Let’s Heal Together
What is somatic breathwork?
Somatic breathwork is a powerful but gentle practice that connects breath with body awareness, allowing you to release stored tension and emotions. By focusing on conscious breathing patterns, this method taps into the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance.
It is not just a relaxation tool but a transformative experience for mind, body and spirit.
This approach recognizes the body as both intelligent and protective-holding experiences, emotions and patterns that may not always be accessible through talk alone.
Through intentional breathing, the nervous system is supported in moving toward balance and safety. At the same time breath serves as a bridge between the body, mind and spirit, allowing healing unfold at a pace that feels respectful and supportive to each individual.
What can somatic breathwork help with?
This practice can aid in healing in many areas, including:
*Stress & Anxiety: calm your central nervous system, reduce anxiety, and feel more relaxed and grounded.
*Trauma: gently assist the body in processing and releasing stored emotional experiences, without forcing or re-traumatization.
*Physical Tension: identify and release areas of tension held in your body.
*Mood: elevate your mood and improve your overall sense of happiness and well being
*Sleep & Restoration: encourages deeper, more restful sleep
*Immune System: support and improve immune function
What to expect during the Soma+IQ Journey?
Sessions are guided in a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment. You will be led through rhythmic breathing techniques designed to support the nervous system regulation and body awareness. You are always invited to listen to your body, take breaks, or modify the experience as needed.
Emotional or physical sensations may arise, or the experience may feel subtle and grounding. There is no expectation to relive past experiences or push beyond your comfort level. The intention is to create a space where the body feels safe enough to release naturally from within.
Your autonomy and boundaries are always respected. You remain in control of your own experience at all times. This practice honors that healing is not linear and unfolds uniquely for each person.

ECONOMY SELF-HYPNOSIS
presented by Lewis Dark, Certified Hypnotist
A One-Session Class
Available EVERY SECOND SUNDAY through 2026
2:00 – approximately 4:00 PM
About the class:
As all human abilities that are evoked by hypnosis belong to the hypnotized person, it is a truism that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The “hypnotist” is merely a trance teacher or facilitator. This class will give you the basic tools to become your own hypnotist — and to improve your life in the privacy of your own mind.
This class emphasizes stress relief, goal achievement, and the cultivation of concentrated thinking. In one information-packed two-hour session you will learn easy, personalized, non-mystical methods of achieving altered states of consciousness that will help you relax, to concentrate, and make you more stress-proof. More importantly, you will then learn a systematic guide to self-suggestion and positive thinking that will let you put those altered states of consciousness to work, solving your problems and improving your every-day life. Using these base tools, you can then go on to practice different techniques and personalize your own self-hypnosis method, tailoring it to your own needs and desires.
About the instructor:
Larry Garrett describes Lewis Dark as “my last living student.” Lewis is a graduate of Larry’s former self-hypnosis class at Morton College, as well as the extensive hypnosis class Larry taught privately in his Gunnison Street offices in the late 1970s. Lewis’s compulsive reading habits also gave him accidental expertise in the work of Milton H. Erickson M.D. (1902-1980). His subsequent teachers in hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming were Norma Baretta Ph.D., Phil Baretta AAMFT, Linda Williamson M.A., C.H.I., and Klaus Boettcher. He was certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists in 2005. Lewis is also a graduate of stage hypnosis safety courses taught by Lee Darrow and the National Association of Mobile Entertainers.
The Lewis Dark Hypnosis Show ran from 1995 to 2015, garnering laughter and applause at post-proms, prenuptials, and numerous private and corporate parties in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Minnesota. During this time Lewis also gave public lectures on hypnotism, taught the Economy Self-Hypnosis class on an occasional basis, and lectured to his fellow hypnosis professionals at the Mid-America Hypnosis Conference (MAHC), the Association to Advance Ethical Hypnosis Illinois Chapter 2 (now the Second Tuesday Hypnosis Group), the Leidecker Institute, and related organizations. He was honored to perform as featured stage hypnotist for his peers at the 2011 MAHC.
Lewis always attempted to use his stage show as education about the benefits of hypnosis, self-hypnosis, and general human potential. Economy Self-Hypnosis is an effort to further that educational service, distilling his many years of experience of presenting hypnotism to the public into this low-priced one-afternoon class. He welcomes your attendance.
Class fee $35 at the door (cash, check, or credit card).
